It applies to our website, enquiries and enrolments, courses, live surgery training, mentorship and any related communications.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or enrolling in a program, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described in this policy.

Records of our communications with you.
3. How we collect information
We collect most personal information directly from you, for example when you make an enquiry, enrol, complete a form, attend a program or contact us. We may also collect information from your practice (for example, when arranging mentorship visits), from the public register of practitioners maintained by AHPRA to verify your registration, and automatically through our website.
If you do not provide the information we request, we may not be able to process your enrolment or allow you to take part in a program.

Some information, such as health information, is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We only collect sensitive information about you with your consent and where it is reasonably necessary, for example to cater for dietary needs, make accessibility arrangements or keep you safe during a practical session.
6. Patient information
Live surgery training and mentorship involve real patients. Patient health information is collected and held by the treating dental practice under that practice’s own privacy obligations, and is used only for the patient’s care. Participants must keep all patient information confidential and must not record, copy or remove it. Clinical images or case details are used for teaching only with the patient’s consent and in de-identified form.
7. Who we disclose information to
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it to:

We require our service providers to handle personal information securely and only for the purpose for which it was provided.
8. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store data on servers located outside Australia, for example in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the APPs.
9. Marketing
We may send you information about our programs by email or SMS. Every marketing message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us. We will still send you essential messages about programs you have booked.
10. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences and help us understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work properly as a result.
11. Photographs and recordings
We may take photographs or video at our programs for records and promotion. We will ask for your consent before using images in which you can be identified, and you may decline at any time. Participants must not photograph or record program content, other participants or patients without our written permission.
12. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law (for example, financial records and CPD records), after which we securely destroy or de-identify it.
13. Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to the people whose information is involved, we will notify those people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
14. Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we refuse a request, we will explain why, unless it would be unreasonable to do so.
